Cynthia Makena Laichena, a 34-year-old Kenyan lady is the dynamic CEO and founder of Nalai farm limited where she leads the value addition of pork into various pork products. A mother of two daughters, a wife and an advocate for agribusiness, Cynthia’s journey from mass communication studies at multimedia university to agribusiness innovation shows her wide-ranging expertise. She holds a diploma inflight service at the aviation college in Nairobi, a certificate in management and innovation for agribusiness entrepreneurs from united states international university (USIU), certificate in investing in agribusiness at Strathmore university and certificate in meat processing at the south Africa butchery school in south Africa

She has undergone training in development of business plans for women entrepreneurs by Gowe and African development bank in Nairobi, Kenya, pig value chain processing in Tanzania Dar es salaam and global master class program in Zambia. Privileged to attend the food first conference in the Netherlands sponsored by Rabo bank foundation, AU-EU conference investing in food secure future in the Netherlands, livestock value chain conference at ilri Nairobi, Indus food conference in new Delhi, gulf food expo in Dubai, Indus food 2 in Hyderabad India and being a panelist at the high level meeting 2 of the global partnership for effective development cooperation in Nairobi. She is a beneficiary of the young venture’s accelerator program, the equity bank leadership program and currently undertaking management training with the academy for women entrepreneurs. Passionate about inspiring the younger generation. Cynthia is dedicated to transforming perspectives from traditional agriculture to modern agribusiness entrepreneurship.
