LUCY NJUHI MWANGI: Film Maker


Lucy is a director and co-owner at Moonbeam Productions, a film company she has run since 2011. She is
the vice-secretary of the Producers Guild of Kenya and a highly experienced content creator with over 20
years of expertise in storytelling. Holding a degree in Communication and Media Technology and an MA
in International Relations, Lucy blends creative vision with academic depth in her work. She specializes
in all aspects of content creation, from conceptualization to post-production. Her 2023 groundbreaking
research on “militainment”—the convergence of military and entertainment—gained international
recognition.

Equipped with a Producing diploma from the New York Film Academy, a Line Producing certificate, and
an Editing Certificate from MET Film in Berlin, Germany, Lucy has honed her craft across continents,
enriching her storytelling prowess with diverse cultural perspectives. Her productions, which include the
popular comedy series ‘Auntie Boss!’, ‘Varshita’, and ‘Njoro wa Uba’, have won numerous local awards,
with ‘Njoro wa Uba’ winning Best Original Comedy in Africa in 2023.

Committed to nurturing future storytellers, Lucy mentors film students and provides opportunities for
disadvantaged youth. She conducts free workshops where she offers guidance to budding creatives.
With a career mantra of “Decades of storytelling, a lifetime of impact,” Lucy exemplifies not only
excellence in content creation but also a profound dedication to effecting positive change through the
power of storytelling.
