ALEXIS JUMA: Businesswoman, Counselor, Church Leader, & Gospel Singer

Alexis is an easy-going, self-driven, adventurous and compassionate Christian and Social Development
Specialist that has worked with hundreds of thousands of people in rural and urban disenfranchised
communities across Kenya, for almost two decades, through many local and international development
organizations.

Having struggled with adamant eczema from her teenage years into her young adulthood, she
experimented with plant oils and successfully managed her condition. A deep love for plant oils was
birthed forthwith and had been a lifelong passion. Upon voluntarily quitting employment in 2016, she
made the resolution to entrepreneurially pursue her passion for plant oils. She describes herself as a
student of nature and is the visionary Founder & CEO of a social enterprise called Kakia Oils.
Alexis is a mother of two that enjoys nature, reading, music, movies and experimenting with edible and
non-edible recipes. She is also passionate about causes touching on economic development,
sustainable beauty, animal welfare, vulnerable children and women and environmental conservation.
